One Night Stand will take the form of a small “book fair” held
in the courtyard of KW Institute for Contemporary Art with diverse
international participants presenting print projects, explaining them
to whoever asks, and selling them if they want. The common denominator
of the participants invited to show their wares as part of One Night Stand
is that the results of their serial collaborative experimentations with
printed matter results in publications that can be seen as autonomous
artworks. Most are independent print projects initiated by artists. One Night Stand
includes publications in some way out of the ordinary and worth special
attention and unusual either in form, content, or in the attitude and
motivation behind them.
The participants are:
Anita Di Bianco, New York, Corrections and Clarifications
Bent Books, Istanbul
Documentation Celine Duval, Normandie
Eva Weinmayr, London, rumors
Kristina Ask, Copenhagen, DICTIONARY and printed projects
Michalis Pichler, Berlin, publications and Archive of Shredded Catalogues
Rita McBride, Düsseldorf, books
Samandal Comics Magazine, Beirut
Temporary Services, Chicago
Uqbar Foundation, Amsterdam
One Night Stand is an event initiated
by BENT, a collaboration between Philippine Hoegen and the Istanbul
artist initiative BAS, directed by Banu Cennetoğlu. Banu Cennetoğlu and
Philippine Hoegen also present the work of Masist Gül at the Schinkel
Pavillon.
